Judging is now well underway for the 2026 CW Awards, and we’re proud to once again be involved in judging and sponsoring the Global Player Award — celebrating excellence in international trade and export.
Our Director of Marketing and International Sales, Robert Lawton, has teamed up again with Ajay Desai from the Department for Business and Trade to review an inspiring field of entrants. The quality of applications this year reflects the ambition and global reach of exporting businesses right across Coventry and Warwickshire, making the judges’ task both exciting and challenging as they work to narrow them down to this year’s finalists.

Judge’s Criteria
- Export Growth: Demonstration of substantial growth in export (products or services) sales and market presence in international markets.
- Market Expansion: Successful entry and establishment in new foreign markets, including strategic market development and effective distribution channels.
- Innovation in Export Strategy: Implementation of innovative strategies or practices to enhance export performance, including marketing, logistics, and compliance with international regulations.
- Sustainability and Compliance: Adherence to sustainable practices and compliance with international trade regulations and standards, ensuring ethical and responsible business conduct.
- Economic Impact: Contribution to the local and national economy through export activities, including job creation, revenue generation, and enhancing the country’s global trade profile.
Looking Back at 2025
Last year’s CW Awards were a fantastic celebration of regional business success, with a packed evening of recognition and networking at the Belgrade Theatre in Coventry. The Global Player Award, proudly sponsored by Lawton Tubes, was won by NP Aerospace in 2025, recognised for its exceptional growth in international markets and strong export performance that saw overseas revenues flourish.
2025’s finalists, including EBS Ltd., London EV Company (LEVC), Silson, and WOMAG, demonstrated the breadth of export ambition in the region, and all were warmly acknowledged for their achievements in global markets. We were honoured to support and judge this award category in its inaugural year, and it was inspiring to see so many companies pushing boundaries and expanding their international footprint.
What’s Next
With finalists now being selected, we’re looking forward to announcements in the coming weeks, culminating in the reveal of the 2026 winners at the CW Awards ceremony later this spring. It’s shaping up to be another brilliant showcase of business excellence!
