Lawton Tubes is edging closer to opening the doors to its biggest investment in 108 years.
The business recently hosted West Midlands Mayor Richard Parker and Coventry and Warwickshire Chamber of Commerce Chief Executive Corin Crane for a glimpse of its new £20 million headquarters, which is currently under construction and due to open early next year.
The new facility – which is the size of around 40 tennis courts – is being built directly across the road from Lawton Tubes’ current headquarters on Torrington Avenue and comprises of a 107,768 sq ft warehouse and 17,220 sq ft of office and welfare space, alongside a 40-metre service yard.
Once open it will more than double the manufacturer’s capacity to meet rising UK demand for its plumbing, heating, air conditioning, OEM and medical grade products – driven by commercial property, new-build homes, NHS infrastructure, UK defence and new emerging markets such as data centres – alongside demand from the 42 other countries it exports to.
Lawton Tubes sells enough 100 per cent recyclable copper tube and fittings to circle the earth one and a half times, carrying water and energy into homes, hospitals and cities across the country, as well as supplying the ongoing maintenance of landmarks including Big Ben, the Houses of Parliament, The Shard and Wembley Stadium.
The new HQ will help the family business exceed its annual turnover beyond £230 million.
The steel structure of the new HQ, which sits on the former Sandvik site on Torrington Avenue, is now fully erected and was recently made watertight.

Since work began on site in January 2026, principal contractor Interclass has made significant progress on the build with 10,700m² of roofing installed and 475 tonnes of hot and cold rolled steel erected across 4,400-plus worked hours.
