We’re proud to be marking our 25th anniversary of our Lawton Engineering brand, by looking ahead to the next phase of our growth, with plans to expand our capabilities and support an even wider range of industries.

The brand has been part of the British, family-owned Lawton Tubes business since 2001, when Dorset Tubes was acquired and fit perfectly in the Lawton Engineering branding. Since then, we’ve grown into a key part of the wider group, supplying bespoke copper and alloy components, including copper nickel, to customers across advanced manufacturing sectors.

Today, we distribute around 1.2 million metal parts every month. Our components are used in a wide range of applications, from automotive and marine to clean energy, distilleries and electronics.

As demand for specialist copper components continues to grow, we’re now focused on expanding into new areas. This includes supporting HVAC manufacturers, plumbing specialists and life science suppliers, as well as other sectors where precision copper tubing plays a critical role.

“The transformation we’ve seen since becoming part of Lawton Tubes has been remarkable, both in how we operate and how we serve our customers. We’ve moved from being ‘busy fools’ to having a far more streamlined and efficient flow of work. We’ve invested in systems that give us much greater visibility across production, while continuing to develop the skills of our team. Now, 25 years on, we have a fantastic opportunity to build on that foundation and move into new markets such as HVAC, plumbing and life sciences, where precision copper and alloy components are essential. There’s a real sense of optimism about the future. With new equipment and processes on the horizon, we’re confident the next 25 years can be even more successful.”

Over the past 25 years, our Poole facility on Thrush Road has undergone significant transformation. We’ve modernised our internal processes, improved factory workflow, introduced a modern ERP system and placed a strong focus on developing and training our team.

These changes have strengthened our manufacturing capabilities and mean we’re well positioned to meet the increasingly complex needs of our customers.

“Over the past 25 years, Lawton Engineering has become a vital part of our engineering capability, helping us support manufacturers who rely on precision copper components. What makes our Poole site stand out is the experience within the team and the flexibility we bring to complex engineering projects. We’re excited about the future and the opportunity to support even more industries with increasingly sophisticated requirements.”
