We’ve been celebrating a fantastic achievement here at Lawton Tubes after one of our team members helped England secure silverware at the World Bowls Championships in Norway earlier this month.
About Nathan
Nathan Caine, 25, who works as a Warehouse Operations Team Leader at our Torrington Avenue site in Coventry, claimed victory in the pairs category alongside his teammate. Competing against 11 other countries, they were crowned the best in the world, an incredible accomplishment and a proud moment for everyone at Lawton Tubes.
Nathan’s journey to the top has been years in the making. Having first discovered his passion for bowls through his Grandad two decades ago, he has gone on to represent both Warwickshire & Worcestershire and the West Midlands, dedicating countless hours to developing his skills.
Supporting Nathan as a Family Business
We’re particularly proud to see how Nathan’s role within our business has complemented his sporting success. Leading a team of five in our warehouse, Nathan plays a key role in ensuring our made-to-order copper tubes and fittings are picked, packed, and delivered efficiently to our customers. His ability to think ahead, communicate effectively, and work as part of a team are qualities that shine both on the warehouse floor and on the green.
We’ve been pleased to support Nathan in balancing his career with his sporting ambitions. By working flexibly around his bowls commitments, including moving to a weekday daytime role, we’ve helped him continue competing at the highest level while maintaining time with his family.
The Outcome
This latest success follows another major milestone, with Nathan playing a key role in England’s victory at the British Bowls Championships in Solihull last November, the first time England had won the title in 20 years.
Everyone here has been talking about Nathan’s achievement, and rightly so. He’s become a valued leader within our team in a short space of time, and his dedication, adaptability, and attention to detail make him a fantastic ambassador for both our business and his sport.
We’re incredibly proud of what he’s achieved, and we’ll be cheering him on as he looks to defend the title in the future.
