A team of installers that provide free plumbing and heating for worthy causes are set to work on a new project for the homeless in Grimsby, and have praised a leading copper distributor’s crucial role in making it happen.
Coventry-based Lawton Tubes, a leading supplier of copper tube and fittings that has worked with Warriors of Warmth on many projects, will be donating more than £1,000 of copper tube towards the work.
Charity Warriors of Warmth works around the country on a wide mix of projects, from installing central heating in foodbanks to new radiators in homeless shelters, and it relies on donations of materials from suppliers to carry out the work for free.
Its latest project involves installing a heat pump, gas boiler and radiators at a disused three-storey bank in Grimsby so it can be converted into a homeless shelter for the Christian Action Resource Enterprise (CARE), which provides help with housing, essentials, and one-to-one support in the town.
Jonathon originally founded Warriors of Warmth to enable organisations which have struggled for cash to make vital repairs or start new projects that will benefit their communities.
Alongside the upcoming homeless shelter in Grimsby, Warriors of Warmth have supported with projects all over the country, including foodbanks in Stratford-upon-Avon and Windsor, a charitable city farm in Nottingham, and a Scouts hall in Doncaster to name a few.
Jonathon was able to secure copper for these projects after reaching out to Robert Lawton, a Director at Lawton Tubes, for their support.
Lawton Tubes was formed in 1918 and has grown into a global business that now exports to more than 40 countries, turns over £230 million and employs 150 staff.
